Del Prado’s Scottish infantryman carries a tall axe-headed polearm and a round shield. A brimmed metal helmet and blue, studded-looking coat distinguish him from mail-clad knights. The product reference places the subject at Stirling in 1297; the model is an unnamed infantry figure.
Cataloged as a French artilleryman of 1450, this Del Prado figure holds a short firearm to his shoulder. He wears a metal helmet and body protection, with a sword at his side. The supplied subject is a single handgunner, not a cannon and its crew.
Del Prado’s Mongol archer stands holding a curved bow across his body. He wears a blue patterned coat, boots and a fur-like cap, with archery equipment at his side. Although Mongol armies are strongly associated with mounted archery, this particular release depicts the man on foot.
This Viking warrior wears a blue tunic and helmet, with a shield carried behind his shoulder and an axe raised upright. His other arm extends outward. Del Prado’s reference identifies Norway and the year 872, while the decorated neckline and wrapped lower legs give the figure more detail than its broad silhouette first suggests.
Del Prado’s Norman knight stands on foot with a spear, small checkered pennon and matching round shield. Mail covers much of the body, while a dark red garment and pale lower legs break up its texture. The reference dates the subject to 1025, well before the Norman invasion of England.
NA185 depicts a Coldstream Guards flagbearer walking with a Union-pattern colour held forward on its staff. His red coat and pale trousers contrast with the flag’s blue field, white diagonals and red cross. The forward foot and angled staff distinguish him from the more stationary NA126.
NA176 depicts a dismounted French dragoon advancing with a musket and fixed bayonet held across his body. His brass-colored crested helmet, green coat and pale trousers distinguish him from the blue-coated line infantry. A pack and rolled equipment sit behind the shoulders. The release contains the man on foot, with no horse.
NA132 shows a young Coldstream drummer with both sticks raised above his side drum. The decorated sleeves, red coat and shako give the small figure considerable detail. His drum is carried in front of him, making the musical role immediately apparent.
The Coldstream sergeant in NA131 stands holding a long polearm upright at an angle. His red coat and grey trousers link him to the Guards infantry, but the weapon distinguishes him from their muskets. The figure’s poised stance gives him authority without a shouting gesture.
NA126 depicts a Coldstream Guards officer holding a large crimson colour with a Union canton and central device. He wears a red coat, pale trousers and a shako. The high flag and grounded stance make this a more formal composition than the advancing infantry.
