King & Country · Napoleonic · NA126
NA126 depicts a Coldstream Guards officer holding a large crimson colour with a Union canton and central device. He wears a red coat, pale trousers and a shako. The high flag and grounded stance make this a more formal composition than the advancing infantry.
Colours embodied a battalion’s identity and served as conspicuous points within its formation. Carrying one was a responsibility rather than simply a way of marking rank. The Coldstream Guards’ Napoleonic service included Waterloo and the defense of Hougoumont.

Review
The large crimson field is visually effective, and the relatively quiet officer keeps attention on the flag. This release is best identified by its visible design as well as its code, since catalog descriptions can use different colour terminology. The painted emblem is the detail that most rewards a close look.
