Based on German historical characters.
Del Prado’s captain of the 1st Bavarian Dragoons stands in a pale uniform with a red front, tall helmet and conspicuous plume. His sword is held at his side. This is a dismounted figure from the Napoleonic infantry-and-officer collection, so the cavalry title does not imply that a horse is supplied.
A short British soldier escorts a taller German prisoner in FW168. The Briton has a bandaged arm, while the captive’s open coat and subdued posture contrast with his escort’s determined stance. The difference in height is intentional and supplies the meaning behind the title.
FW134 depicts a German bugler sounding his instrument while carrying infantry equipment. Pale drill clothing contrasts with dark boots and a spiked helmet, and the raised bugle projects from the face. The pack and slung weapon make him a soldier with a signaling role rather than a concert musician.
Werner Voss appears standing in uniform and tall boots, with one hand at his hip. FW106 is an individual portrait figure: neither his aircraft nor another pilot is included. Compared with FW103’s Boelcke in flying leathers, the uniformed presentation is notably restrained.
FW103 portrays Oswald Boelcke in a dark leather flying coat with a bottle in his hand. The open coat, scarf and tall boots make this a relaxed ground portrait rather than a pilot seated at the controls. The bottle is part of the sculpt’s celebratory character.
A German mechanic cups one hand to his mouth while carrying a toolbox in the other. His cap, grey-green jacket and work trousers give him a practical appearance. FW101 belongs to the airfield support group and includes no aircraft or separate engine.
FW100 shows a German serviceman kneeling beside a field telephone, with the receiver held to his ear. The box, cable and his listening pose form a small, self-contained scene. King & Country presented him among its German airfield support figures rather than as an airborne radio operator.
FW092 is a Mercedes staff vehicle with an enclosed rear compartment, outside steps and a side canopy. A driver is included at the wheel; the Kaiser is not. The tall body, roofline and elaborate front lamps give it a markedly different character from an ordinary open staff car.
FW058 combines a German 77mm field gun with three crewmen in 1914 dress. The shield, large spoked wheels and low trail dominate the model, with the gunners arranged around the working end of the piece. This is the early-war alternative to FW057’s later-war crew.
A kneeling German gunner operates a Maxim-pattern machine gun while a second soldier brings ammunition. King & Country identifies the weapon as the Maxim ’08. The belt hanging from the receiver and the water jacket around the barrel make the equipment as prominent as either man. Both figures wear early-war uniforms and spiked helmets.
