As a fan-curated project, I aim to catalog as many of the King & Country collections as possible. It is my goal to create a meaningful connection between these figures and the historical events that inspired them. As a collector with an expansive King & Country collection, I am always eager to uncover details about rare sets, retired pieces, and lesser-known releases. This is a work in progress!
One of the ongoing challenges for collectors is the lack of a complete, centralized archive of past releases. As King & Country updates its catalog, retired sets are naturally phased out and removed from active rotation on the official site, making it increasingly difficult to research older figures, confirm set compositions, or trace the history of specific releases.
This project exists to help fill that gap — preserving information on both current and retired King & Country sets, and providing collectors with a reliable reference for identification, historical context, and collecting insight that might otherwise be lost over time.

It is our greatest wish to spread that passion for collecting Toy Soldiers and bring about a long lost nostalgia of the physical
sensation of holding these timeless toys in our hands. We create content that is meaningful for those who grew up collecting and
playing with Toy Soldiers in their backyard, on the carpet of the living room, the sandbox in the neighbors house. We combine
the figure with the historic, grab a cup of coffee and watch a movie or read about the historical origin of your favorite toy
soldier.
As an avid collector, I was highly motivated to explore this incredible line of toy soldiers. As my own collection grew, I
started searching for specific sets. Aside from the striking paratrooper sets that K&C offers, there were many unknowns. As I
discovered new sets, it became painfully obvious that there was not a single place where the D-Day sets (or, in fact,
any other sets and lines) were catalogued. I was left exploring obscure websites and shops, as well as combing through
eBay and other second-hand markets to discover sets.
I decided to catalog the sets myself and add some historical context. I am a huge history buff and was drawn not only to the
figures themselves, but also to the history that drove their creation. I am aiming for this to be a one-stop shop for all information
regarding King & Country toy soldier sets. It is a passion project, so I am dedicating my time and effort whenever it
is available. I hope that people find value in it and continue to reference the sets on this site along with the history attached to
them.

My modest D-Day display! I wanted this to be much larger but I did not have the space!
The bunker was inspired by Dan Nance (shout out Dan Nance Historical Artist) I saw him using a cooler as a base for his bunker on his d-day diorama.
I happen to have displayed mostly Rangers as I was inspired by Saving Private Ryan, but we know that many other units participated in this attack, not the least of which were British and Canadian troops on Sword, Juno and Gold beaches.
This is my salute to the incredible courage and mental fortitude it took for these men charge into certain death in the fight against tyranny. The world enjoyed many years of peace and prosperity thanks to the sacrifice of these brave men.

Battle Report, 17 June 1944
Mounting pressure from Wehrmacht command forced Lt. Neumann to press the British position in broad daylight through repeated frontal assaults.
As the German troops concentrated for the attack, British reinforcements steadily poured in to fortify the precarious foothold. This had a twofold effect. At first, the Germans believed the area was only lightly defended, giving them confidence that they could overwhelm the defenders. At the same time, it lured them into increasingly aggressive frontal assaults. In a strange tug of war, the defenders slowly gained strength while the attackers were repeatedly repulsed — the stubborn British line reinforced by two stray paratrooper sections separated from their regiment.
Casualties were high on both sides.
1st Platoon of II Kompanie, 9th Regiment of the 272. Infanterie-Division “Eichenwald” committed all 38 men in the assault, along with an attached section of Panzergrenadiers, bringing the total attacking force to 48 men. The unit was nearly wiped out during repeated daytime thrusts. At 12:47 PM, the attack was finally abandoned as the formation became combat ineffective after suffering grievous casualties.
The picture below shows the shattered remnants of the force: Lt. Neumann, six surviving men from 1st Platoon, and the remaining crew of the Panzergrenadier half-track in full retreat.
The defending force, consisting primarily of elements of B Company, 51st Royal Wessex Regiment — a mixed formation drawn from the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Platoons totaling 34 men — along with two attached paratrooper sections, was also nearly destroyed in the fighting, suffering nearly 40 men killed or wounded.
The German mortar crew proved especially devastating due to the range and accuracy of their fire. Nonetheless, the stubborn British defenders repulsed wave after wave of determined German attacks, holding on through withering enemy fire.
“We just carried on, the lads held on as best they could. We’d no idea how many were coming until Jerry finally spent himself,” said Sgt. Wilcox during the post-battle debriefing.
