King & Country · Napoleonic · NA036
NA036 is a standing Black Watch infantryman whose quiet pose gives the uniform room to speak. The kilt, feather bonnet and red coat separate him at once from the trousered early 71st releases.

Two Scottish regiments are not one uniform
The NA range includes several Scottish subjects. NA036 is explicitly a Black Watch figure, while the early 71st group has a different appearance. Putting one of each side by side makes a useful comparison of regimental presentation, but placing them in one undifferentiated rank obscures the reason the manufacturer issued distinct groups.
What the upright pose reveals
The rifle stands beside the body, leaving the crossbelts and front of the kilt visible. The dark bonnet creates a strong upper mass, balanced by the patterned hose and gaiters below. A restrained pose like this can anchor a group containing the more visually busy piper NA035 or the tall polearm of NA037.
An easy figure to mislabel online
A seller may call him simply a Highlander. Compare the hand position, weapon angle and base with NA049, another standing Black Watch subject. Check the bayonet, the red bonnet detail and the fine edges of the equipment before judging condition. A photograph of the reverse helps confirm the pack and straps as well as the front-facing uniform.
