King & Country · Napoleonic · NA003
The long, level musket gives NA003 its shape. This is the instant after a soldier has brought his weapon to the shoulder, with the red coat and pale trousers framing a very deliberate firing stance.

One pose within a longer sequence
NA003 works particularly well beside the kneeling NA004 and a loading figure such as NA005. Together they explain a process that a row of identical firing soldiers cannot: preparing a shot took time, and men in a unit would not remain frozen at the same stage throughout an engagement. Keep a clear line in front of the muzzle when arranging them.
Recognizing the early 71st group
Look for the diced band around the headgear, white crossbelts over the red coat and light-colored trousers. These features separate the early 71st figures from the kilted Black Watch releases elsewhere in the NA catalog. The compact base and upright stance make NA003 easy to place, but the bayonet projects well beyond the figure’s body.
Before adding a secondhand example
Compare the muzzle and bayonet from the side, then check the point where the forward hand meets the stock. A bent barrel can disappear in a head-on listing photograph. Look at the shoulder straps and edges of the headgear for paint wear; these raised areas are easier to assess than a seller’s broad description of condition.
