King & Country · Vietnam · VN022
VN022 is a kneeling North Vietnamese soldier aiming an RPG launcher. He wears a pith-style helmet and carries additional rockets behind his shoulders. The launcher’s projecting warhead and the ammunition on his back distinguish him immediately from the nearby AK-armed figures.
The NVA’s Shoulder-Launched Firepower
Rocket-propelled grenades gave infantry a portable means of attacking armor and other hard targets. The weapon also made a recognizable appearance in fighting around defended positions. Its ammunition was a substantial part of the soldier’s load, which is why the extra rounds matter to the miniature’s silhouette as much as the launcher in his hands.
Review
The compact kneeling stance suits the long weapon, and the spare rockets explain the figure’s specialized role. The pose has a clear direction without an exaggerated lunge. For collectors building out the Vietnamese side of the range, this adds a different weapon and body shape to the riflemen.
