King & Country · Napoleonic · NA168

NA168 supplies a mounted officer for the earlier Scots Greys releases. He wears the regiment’s red coat and bearskin, with an officer’s sash and a drawn sword held closer to the body than NA085’s extended charging blade. His grey horse moves forward at a controlled pace.
The historical setting
King & Country’s release note explicitly says that its original Scots Greys group had lacked an officer. This figure filled that gap. Historically, mounted officers had to direct a formation whose speed made cohesion difficult to recover once lost. The measured pose makes sense as a command subject alongside the more impulsive charge figures.
Review
The controlled movement is the distinction I find most useful. The officer belongs visually with the charging Greys without copying their poses. His sash and restrained sword position give him a recognizable role while preserving the regiment’s familiar appearance.
