King & Country · Napoleonic · NA068

NA068 arches backward with the musket still in his hands. The catalog identifies a wounded Highlander, and the unusual body angle makes that interruption visible among the more controlled infantry poses.

The figure captures disruption

The lifted face and backward lean separate NA068 from a soldier calmly presenting or aiming a weapon. This is a moment in which the body no longer follows the orderly lines of the formation. It can add weight to a battle scene without needing a large field hospital or a collection of anonymous prone casualties.

Compare the early wounded subject

NA012 presents a wounded soldier within the early 71st group; NA068 does so in Black Watch dress. They provide a useful comparison of how injury is represented through different poses and uniforms. They should remain separate entries, not be treated as alternate paint versions of one generic wounded Scottish figure.

Separate intended damage from actual condition

The title explains the sculpted event, but it does not excuse unrelated losses. Examine the musket, bayonet and bonnet against the reference photograph, then check the painted uniform and base. A clear side view is essential because it shows the deliberate curve of the body. Keep that reference when assessing a loose figure whose seller has not recognized the subject.
