King & Country · Napoleonic · NA012
NA012 combines a defensive kneeling stance with the catalog’s wounded subject. The lowered body and raised weapon make the scene readable without needing a stretcher, medic or a large group around him.

A casualty still in the formation
The figure is useful because it shows injury within an ongoing action. A wounded soldier need not be represented only as a prone body after the battle. NA012 can appear near a standing comrade or behind a low front rank, where the altered posture becomes part of the group’s story rather than an isolated dramatic effect.
The formation around one man
A defensive infantry formation relied on its members maintaining a coherent front. A single figure can suggest that pressure but cannot reproduce the depth or numbers involved. The National Army Museum’s Waterloo account is a useful starting point for the interaction of infantry and cavalry. The miniature works best as a focused detail within that larger context.
What to check in photographs
Study the head and upper body against the catalog image before interpreting a painted injury as accidental damage. Then inspect the projecting weapon, bent leg and base edge separately. A model that is intentionally wounded can still have unrelated chips or repairs; the reference photograph lets those two things be judged on their own merits.
