The missing hat is intentional
The catalog identifies this release as the no-hat version. An absent hat is therefore part of the subject, not automatically a missing accessory. That is a useful distinction when buying a loose figure: compare the sculpted head with the reference photograph before treating an incomplete-looking silhouette as damage. The weapon and equipment still need their own condition checks.
Regimental identity survives the variation
The red coat, crossbelts, pale trousers and pack maintain the early 71st appearance. The regimental history at the National Army Museum follows the unit across several campaigns. A collector can use the headgear variation to add human detail while still checking whether the rest of the uniform suits a chosen date.

Set the two ready poses side by side and compare the angle of the musket and the treatment of the head.
