Command, signals, dispatch riders, military police, tank crews, musicians and other support subjects.
King & Country’s AK076 is a single military policeman whose equipment makes his occupation immediately legible. He wears a tropical sun helmet with goggles above the brim, a green tunic and pale trousers gathered above his boots.
AK054 changes the activity on the shelf from fighting to filming. King & Country pairs a standing correspondent holding a microphone with a cameraman leaning into a movie camera on a tripod.
The tall enclosed body of AK052 immediately separates it from an ordinary supply lorry. King & Country’s Funkkraftwagen is a radio truck with an Afrika Korps driver, finished in brown mottling over a sandy base.
King & Country’s AK037 Opel Blitz gives a desert collection something every tank needs: transport behind it. The truck comes with an Afrika Korps driver, a detailed cab and a removable rear canopy; the release description also specifies rolling wheels.
Blue UN headgear and a long-handled detector make this Polish officer one of Del Prado’s clearest support-role subjects. The 1979 date places the figure near the end of UNEF II’s service in the Sinai.
A dark blue coat, white cross-belts and light trousers give this Austrian sapper a clean vertical outline. The model adds a technical support subject to a campaign usually represented by infantry, cavalry and senior commanders.
Shorts, a peaked cap and dark glasses give this Royal Fusiliers captain a memorable desert-army appearance. The figure represents an infantry officer on staff duties, adding headquarters work to the twentieth-century infantry collection.
An apron and axe give this Young Guard sapper a working identity beneath an ornate military appearance. Del Prado combines practical equipment with tall headgear, making the figure an easy focal point in an infantry group.
The upright tool beside this dark-uniformed figure makes him a useful change from the usual musket-bearing soldier. The dealer identifies him as an Imperial artillery engineer, a support subject that rewards careful labeling.
The small barrel and colourful clothing make this cantinière one of the most distinctive foot figures in the Del Prado range. She adds the provision of everyday supplies to a shelf of soldiers and officers.
