King & Country · WWII U.S. Marines · USMC054

USMC054 kneels with a bazooka balanced across his shoulder, one hand supporting the tube and the other at the firing grip. The launcher extends behind him as well as ahead, giving the figure a distinctive horizontal shape. The release is a single operator; no separate loader accompanies him in the factory reference.
Not every strongpoint yielded
A bazooka could be used against defended positions as well as armored vehicles, but its presence did not guarantee a bunker’s destruction. The Marine history of Cape Gloucester describes rockets failing to detonate against the soft earth covering some Japanese defenses. Those positions then demanded other weapons and close cooperation between tanks and infantry.
That episode is useful context for the model because it avoids turning a recognizable weapon into a universal answer. The kneeling operator represents one part of a larger attack. The rear of the tube is also a functional part of the launcher’s shape, not merely a decorative extension behind the helmet.
Review
The tube is well integrated with the shoulders and arms in the reference views, making the firing posture easy to read. It provides a clear alternative to the standing flamethrower operator or the crew-served guns. The set’s small scope is worth stating plainly: one Marine with his launcher, rather than a full bazooka team.
