King & Country · Napoleonic · NA022
NA022 holds the musket level at the shoulder, with the dark coat and pale trousers producing a clean outline. The figure supplies a standing counterpart to the kneeling French riflemen without changing the scene’s direction of action.

Standing and kneeling are not interchangeable
NA020 lowers the same broad task, while NA022 gives it height. A display with both can be read from farther away because the weapons create parallel lines at different levels. The result works best when the figures are staggered, leaving clear space in front of the barrels rather than stacking one directly behind another.
The musket as the center of the scene
Napoleonic infantry fire depended on groups of men repeating a practiced task under pressure. NA022 communicates the aiming stage clearly, but surrounding him only with identical firing figures leaves out the preparation. NA021 adds the loading interval, while NA019 introduces a lower, less orderly posture. That small group has more to explain than a row of matching silhouettes.
A straight weapon matters visually
A slightly bent barrel changes the direction of the figure’s gaze and makes an otherwise sound model look awkward. Check it against the shoulder and forward hand in the reference image. Examine the bayonet and the top of the plume separately, then check the white crossbelts for chips that can be hard to distinguish from bright reflections.
