King & Country · Napoleonic · NA019
NA019 brings a bareheaded corporal low over his weapon, with the discarded headgear visible on the base. The scene is more individual than a standard firing pose and rewards a view from slightly above.

The hat belongs to the composition
The headgear on the ground is a useful identifying feature. It makes the bare head intelligible and gives the base a small narrative detail without a separate scenic accessory. In a sale photograph, compare both the figure and that ground-level element; a tight crop around the face can conceal part of the set’s identity.
Avoid turning every blue coat into the same unit
NA019’s headgear and companion figures should be compared with the grenadier and Guard releases elsewhere in the range. French infantry included different companies and specialist roles, and a similar coat color does not settle the identification. For a compact display, the related crouching, loading and firing poses offer a clearer connection than an assortment chosen only by nationality.
A low figure needs a low viewpoint
Place NA019 toward the front of a shelf, where the torso, hands and hat remain visible. A high wall will erase most of the story. Check the musket’s long line, the edge of the grounded headgear and the figure’s forward hand for damage or repainting. His intentionally disrupted appearance should not be confused with accidental losses.
