King & Country · Battle of the Bulge · BBA018

BBA018 is King & Country’s winter M24 Chaffee, with an irregular white finish over the vehicle and three figures: two crewmen in the hatches and an infantryman riding outside. The narrow hull, long gun and crowded upper surfaces give it a different outline from a Sherman. Bags and other stowage interrupt the pale paint, so there is plenty to look at beyond the turret.
The M24 in late 1944
The Chaffee replaced the M5 light tank with a vehicle carrying a 75mm gun and torsion-bar suspension. It reached combat in Europe late in 1944. Its appearance in a Bulge collection is therefore plausible, but the timing matters: this was a new arrival, not the standard light tank of every American formation fighting around Bastogne.
The rider changes the feel of the model. With him aboard, the tank reads as a vehicle moving with infantry rather than an isolated armored exhibit. The two hatch figures also help show the limited room inside the turret. Keep the set’s late arrival in mind when choosing the date and unit for a more specific display.
Review
The winter finish is the main attraction in the reference photographs. Dark openings, tracks and stowage prevent the white areas from flattening the tank’s shape. It is a useful choice for someone who likes American armor but wants a smaller vehicle with its crew already present. The exterior rider gives the model a clear front-to-back flow; surrounding it with too many standing figures would obscure that detail.
