King & Country · Afrika Korps · AK118
AK118 is a single figure of Hermann-Bernhard Ramcke in tropical uniform, wearing a peaked cap with binoculars at his chest and one arm extended. King & Country places the portrayal in North Africa in 1942.
The man behind the figure
Hermann-Bernhard Ramcke commanded a Luftwaffe paratroop formation sent to North Africa in 1942. Army History places his brigade in the Axis line near El Alamein that summer. These paratroopers fought there as ground troops. The Second Battle of El Alamein, fought from 23 October to 4 November 1942, ended in an Axis defeat and retreat.

Review
The pointing pose gives Ramcke more character than a general standing at attention. His pale uniform also distinguishes him from the darker-clothed fighting figures. The sculpt’s appeal depends heavily on interest in the commander himself: it is a specific personality figure, with no accompanying staff or equipment group to broaden the set.
