Del Prado · Figure Study
This Del Prado officer rides a walking brown horse in a blue coat with red distinctions, dark trousers and a bicorne with a tall red plume. The sword remains at his side. The product reference identifies him as a Dalmatian pandour officer, dated 1810–1814.

Historical inspiration
The eastern Adriatic lands were drawn into the changing borders and military demands of the Napoleonic period. The term pandour has associations with regional military service and frontier traditions, rather than naming the same kind of cavalryman in every army. The specific Dalmatian identification is therefore worth preserving instead of relabeling this unusual figure as a generic French hussar.
Review
The walking horse allows the blue-and-red uniform and tall plume to stand out. Its appeal is the uncommon subject, presented in a restrained mounted pose. This adds geographic variety to a collection that can otherwise become dominated by the same handful of famous regiments.
