King & Country VN Vietnam War figure and vehicle articles.
VN130 depicts a kneeling noncommissioned officer observing through binoculars with an M16 in his other hand. The divided attention between observation and personal weapon gives this release a clear role alongside infantry figures in more active poses.
VN121 is Full Metal Joker, a film-inspired Marine subject associated with Full Metal Jacket. The release description emphasizes the character’s camera alongside his rifle and other equipment. It belongs in a discussion of the film’s imagery as well as in the manufacturer’s Vietnam range.
VN087, Shoot Now!, depicts an older Viet Cong figure urging his comrades to open fire. Its value within a group comes from that directing action rather than an interchangeable rifleman pose.
VN096 is ANZAC Special Forces Set #2. The release describes a kneeling M16/M203-armed trooper in tiger-stripe clothing and a second trooper carrying a Sterling submachine gun in ERDL camouflage. The different weapons and clothing are central to telling the two figures apart.
VN080 brings together a prone NVA machine gunner and a kneeling team leader using binoculars. The manufacturer identifies the weapon as a Degtyaryov light machine gun. The difference in height between the two figures makes their separate tasks easy to understand.
VN024 is titled Crouching Uncle Ho, but the release description explicitly presents a lookalike rather than a claim that Ho Chi Minh joined a guerrilla patrol. The figure carries an SKS and is intended as a Viet Cong subject with a recognizable resemblance.
VN019 is a prone female Viet Cong sniper. The release description identifies the weapon as an SKS; the low firing pose and the subject’s identity are the useful starting points for distinguishing it from prone U.S. or North Vietnamese figures.
VN036 depicts a Marine running for cover in the manufacturer’s Hue setting, with one hand holding an M16 and the other holding his helmet. The two hand positions make the action more specific than a generic advancing infantry pose.
VN091 shows a cameraman crouching with a motion-picture camera held to his face. His field clothing and equipment place him among the troops, while the camera’s shape separates him from the still photographer Don McCullin in VN048. The figure contains no second crew member.
VN089 supplies a 106mm recoilless rifle on its distinctive mounting with one Marine gunner. The longer promotional photograph includes additional Marines, including a loader and observer, which are sold separately. The substantial barrel and open mounting leave the operator visible.
