French Military, Napoleonic era
Civilian clothing and a carried firearm give this Del Prado maquisard a different visual language from the uniformed armies. The figure brings the French Resistance into the collection through an individual rather than a vehicle or formal unit group.
This Del Prado legionnaire carries the desert campaign into the French section of the catalog. The headgear, loaded webbing and upright weapon provide an identifiable figure for a battle often overshadowed by the better-known British and German subjects.
NA063 holds the weapon upright in a formal presenting-arms pose. The controlled stance gives the Guard group a ceremonial counterpart to its marching and advancing infantry.
NA062 raises a hand in salute while standing in the formal dress of the Guard group. The gesture creates a relationship with an unseen superior or occasion, making the figure useful for a compact scene of military ceremony.
The drum at the front of NA061 interrupts the repeated pattern of muskets and crossbelts in the Guard group. It gives the soldier an identifiable task and adds a rounded form beneath the tall bearskin.
NA060 represents the Guard on the move, with the weapon on the shoulder and the body kept upright beneath the tall bearskin. It is a useful figure for a road column, review approach or regimental grouping.
NA059 brings the long firearm forward across the body as the Guard infantryman advances. The low weapon line balances the tall bearskin, giving the figure a purposeful silhouette even in a small group.
NA058 carries the Guard’s flag above a dark-coated officer in tall headgear. The large standard gives a group an immediate focal point, while the figure below keeps the object connected to a military role.
NA057 marches with a drawn sword and the tall bearskin silhouette associated with K&C’s Imperial Guard group. The officer introduces leadership into a moving formation without requiring a separate command scene.
NA079 gives the charging dragoon subject the Empress Dragoons treatment. It is a useful release for collectors because it demonstrates how a familiar action can belong to a different unit identity within the NA catalog.
