King & Country · Napoleonic · NA059
NA059 brings the long firearm forward across the body as the Guard infantryman advances. The low weapon line balances the tall bearskin, giving the figure a purposeful silhouette even in a small group.

Moving into action
The advancing pose differs from NA060’s shouldered weapon. One is prepared for immediate use; the other reads as a more orderly movement. That distinction makes the pair useful for explaining how a unit’s appearance changes as it approaches an engagement. Consecutive catalog numbers identify products, however, and should not be taken as a literal sequence from a drill book.
Give the weapon a clear destination
Place NA059 at an angle where the forward reach can be seen. A low piece of terrain can help establish movement, but a high wall will conceal the hands and much of the weapon. A marching figure farther back or an officer to the side can create a readable transition without filling every available space.
Condition checks for an extended pose
The bayonet, barrel and forward wrist are important. Compare their alignment with the catalog photograph before assuming the model is complete. Check the plume and the edges of the pack as well. A full side view is better than an overhead image for judging both the weapon’s straightness and the posture of the advancing legs.
