King & Country · Napoleonic · NA058
NA058 carries the Guard’s flag above a dark-coated officer in tall headgear. The large standard gives a group an immediate focal point, while the figure below keeps the object connected to a military role.

A different flagbearer from NA033
Both releases depict French standards, but they belong to different catalog groups. NA033 is identified with the 3rd Line Infantry; NA058 is a Guard officer. Compare the uniform and flag design as well as the staff. Treating them as substitutes would remove one of the most useful distinctions in the French portion of the collection.
Inspection or movement
The related NA059, NA060 and NA063 offer advancing, marching and presenting-arms infantry. Choose the activity first, then let the flagbearer support it. A color party surrounded by men doing unrelated things can look busy without explaining a clear moment. A restrained arrangement often gives the flag and its bearer more significance.
Look at both faces of the flag
Paint condition and bending may differ from one side to the other. Inspect the finial, staff, hand connection and the outer flag edge. Ask for a photograph including the whole height; an attractive close-up of the officer can conceal a missing top or a shortened staff. Store the code and full reference photograph together for later comparison.
