The Operation ToyBox catalog · WS071

The strong reddish and yellow tones of WS071 make it immediately different from the earlier WS067 King Tiger. The familiar rounded turret remains, but the new finish changes how the broad surfaces catch the eye.

A return to an existing subject

The archived announcement describes this as a second version produced after the earlier Berlin-themed offering. It also states that the crew figures received different camouflage painting.

That makes this a useful comparison piece in a King & Country retrospective. The vehicle subject alone does not identify the release: paint, crew treatment and code all contribute to the distinction.

What the photograph makes clear

The two-colour treatment crosses the turret and hull in conspicuous patches. The three visible crew provide smaller points of colour above those broad panels.

A side-by-side image comparison with WS067 is the clearest way to appreciate the change. On a shelf, keeping a similar viewing angle for both models makes the repaint easier to read.

A caution about the edition number

The surviving retailer page contains conflicting quantities: its title says LE700, while the body says 500. This entry therefore does not present either figure as a settled production total.

The historical limited-edition description is preserved as part of the release record. It is not a claim about current scarcity, resale price or how many examples remain complete.

The turret nickname survives both versions

The early rounded shape is often called the Porsche turret. As the Tank Museum explains, Krupp designed and built both Tiger II turret forms. That distinction applies to WS071 just as it does to WS067.

The collecting appeal here is the documented second treatment of a recognizable model, with the uncertainty in the old quantity information left visible.

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived WS071 product record lists a release date of February 2006. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
