King & Country · Napoleonic · NA033
NA033 carries the French regimental flag beneath an eagle-topped staff. The flag adds height, color and a unit reference to the early French infantry group, making this more than another marching pose.

The unit identification is useful evidence
The retailer’s description identifies a grenadier officer of the 3rd Line Infantry. That is more precise than the shortened title “French flagbearer” and helps distinguish him from an Imperial Guard standard bearer. Record the full designation beside the code so the figure’s identity survives the loss of its box or a vague resale listing.
Compare two French flag subjects
NA058 belongs to the later Guard group and should not be substituted just because both figures carry a French flag. Headgear, uniform and the design of the standard provide a useful comparison. NA034, explicitly identified with the 3rd Line, is a more direct partner for an inspection or marching arrangement around NA033.
The staff needs space
Measure the clearance above the eagle before choosing a shelf position. In a listing, examine the flag’s attachment, the straightness of the staff and the small finial at the top. Paint losses on the bright flag can be conspicuous even when the figure itself is clean. Ask for both sides of the flag if only one is shown.
