The Operation ToyBox catalog · DD404

The scout advances with a compact, attentive posture, holding his rifle close as he looks ahead. DD404 gives the American Patrol group a figure whose placement can explain the direction of the whole scene.

The role comes from the task

The release describes scouting as a duty assigned within an infantry squad, rather than a separate branch represented by a special uniform. That helps explain why the figure shares the clothing and equipment of the other riflemen.

The title and pose provide the role; an invented insignia or additional rank is unnecessary.

Let him see more than the men behind

Place the scout slightly ahead or at an angle to the main group. An opening beside a wall or a bend in the path gives his attention somewhere to go.

The display does not need a visible enemy. The space beyond the figure can remain uncertain, which suits the cautious movement.

Small changes in posture create a patrol

The figure works best when nearby men are not all looking along precisely the same line. A radioman attending to a handset and a rifleman covering another angle can make the group feel more alert.

Those are scenic choices, not a prescribed tactical diagram or a claim about one documented patrol.

The August 2026 release supplies one scout figure. Its identity should be preserved through the full DD404 code rather than being folded into a general listing for advancing American infantry.

In the collection, the scout contributes anticipation. He helps the viewer imagine terrain and events beyond the base, giving the rest of the figures a reason to follow.

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived DD404 product record lists a release date of August 2026. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
