The Operation ToyBox catalog · DD392

The four infantrymen sit and crouch with weapons and packs held close, ready to occupy the upper surfaces of a tank. DD392 gives a Sherman a visible connection with the troops moving alongside it.

These are riders, not the tank’s operating crew

The manufacturer identifies the men as armored-division infantry and describes them catching a ride. That role is different from the crew figures emerging through the vehicle’s hatches.

The set contains four men. Their varied seated and crouched positions let them fit around the shape of a model, but the tank itself is a separate purchase.

A revisited favorite

The June 2024 release announcement calls this a reintroduction of an earlier four-man group with updated painting and armored-division shoulder patches. It does not supply an earlier code in the linked text, so a precise predecessor should not be guessed from resemblance alone.

The new painting and insignia are the documented reasons to retain DD392 as its own entry.

Arrange them around the vehicle’s features

Leave hatches, machine guns and projecting fittings clear. The riders should look as though they occupy available space rather than conceal the parts that identify the tank.

A side-quarter view helps reveal all four men. If one figure disappears behind the turret, a second angle is needed for a complete reference.

For a smaller display, the riders can also be photographed separately beside the vehicle before placement. That makes the contents unambiguous.

DD392 belongs in the collection because it links armor and infantry through a simple shared journey. It changes an isolated vehicle into a temporary platform for four additional people.

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived DD392 product record lists a release date of June 2024. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
