The Operation ToyBox catalog · DD339

DD339 has no scenic base. That simple design choice makes the kneeling British rifleman unusually adaptable: he can occupy a landing craft without bringing a little island of sand or grass aboard.

The rifle stays upright

The long Lee-Enfield is held vertically beside the face, with the butt close to the ground. The compact body and upright weapon make this a waiting or gathering pose rather than another rifleman aiming downrange.

The release description identifies the weapon as a No. 4 rifle. Imperial War Museums catalogs a surviving No. 4 Mk I, providing a useful reference for the real equipment behind the miniature.

A landing craft can become more believable

The low pose fits the visual language of men crowded beneath the sides of a boat. Placed behind the ramp, the upright rifle also remains visible above the crouched figure without requiring him to stand.

The boat is a separate purchase. DD339 is the individual rifleman, and its usefulness should not turn a display photograph into a claim of bundled contents.

Compare the figures without bases

DD343 crawls forward and DD344 holds a rifle across a low crouch. DD339 supplies the more upright kneeling posture, giving the three distinct uses even though all can blend directly into a chosen surface.

Its place in the catalog is that combination of British equipment, vertical rifle and base-free kneel. Check the full body and weapon when identifying a loose example; a tightly cropped head photograph misses the defining feature.

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived DD339 product record lists a release date of August 2021. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
