The Operation ToyBox catalog · DD329
DD329’s long open compartment leads directly toward the lowered bow ramp. The gray LCVP is marked PA06-44 and was issued by King & Country to mark the seventy-fifth anniversary of D-Day in 2019.
The anniversary is part of the release history
The manufacturer describes this as a reissue of an earlier landing-craft model with special markings. The code therefore records a particular commemorative offering, not merely a generic Higgins boat.
The anniversary date belongs to the collectible’s production story. It should not be confused with a claim that the represented hull marking proves the service history of an individual wartime craft.
A boat designed around the passage ashore
The National WWII Museum’s comparison of Higgins craft distinguishes the wooden LCVP from the larger, steel LCM. The landing-craft names describe different designs, not interchangeable labels for every ramp-fronted boat.
The model’s open troop space and movable ramp make its transport purpose visible. The eye can follow the same route a figure would take from the compartment toward the shore.
The crew is included; the assault force is separate
King & Country specifies a U.S. Navy coxswain and two sailors at the .30-caliber machine-gun positions. Infantry passengers and vehicles used to populate the craft are additional display pieces.
The model combines white metal, polystone and resin. Its broad interior rewards an elevated view, while the lowered ramp needs enough clear space ahead to remain part of the scene.
DD329 brings the naval side of the landing into a collection often centered on infantry. The three crew members, anniversary identity and working ramp give it several points of interest beyond the familiar outline of a Higgins boat.
Release record and collecting notes
Sager’s archived DD329 product record lists a release date of July 2019 and a retirement date of March 2020. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
