The Operation ToyBox catalog · DD248

DD248 sits with one hand braced on the ground and a Thompson held close beside him. The bent legs and tilted attention give the figure a resting posture while keeping the familiar airborne equipment visible around his body.

A seated figure changes the tempo

The archived description presents a GI taking a short rest before the next battle. The sculpt gives that pause a physical shape: boots forward, weight down and the supporting hand touching the base.

The weapon remains nearby, but it no longer determines the direction of the scene. His face and posture invite the viewer to read a moment between movements.

The uniform is easier to compare at a lower angle

The camouflaged helmet, pockets, webbing and brown boots produce a busy surface. A small U.S. flag patch adds a recognizable accent on the sleeve.

A lower front-quarter view shows the folds around the knees and the relationship between the supporting arm and the ground. A high overhead view can flatten those details into one patch of green and tan.

The airborne collection needs pauses too

Jumping, advancing and firing subjects naturally dominate a paratrooper display. A seated man lets the collection show a change of pace without removing the equipment that identifies his service.

The release does not name a location or a particular rest stop. That leaves the miniature useful as an anonymous wartime subject, with the moment of rest supplied by the pose and the manufacturer’s description.

Build a small group with different heights

DD249’s standing drinker can provide a companion, while DD247’s medical pair introduces another low scene nearby. Keep enough separation that each release’s individual purpose remains clear.

DD248 works especially well where a standing figure would block the view of a vehicle or another soldier. Its collecting contribution is the relaxed seated shape, the supporting hand and the Thompson held close during a brief pause.

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived DD248 product record lists a release date of March 2015 and a retirement date of December 2020. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
