The Operation ToyBox catalog · DD247
A medic leans toward a paratrooper’s raised arm while the wounded man keeps his rifle upright beside him. DD247 makes a compact two-person scene from their shared kneeling height and the small space where treatment is taking place.

The patient keeps hold of his rifle
The manufacturer identifies an arm wound and explicitly notes that the casualty retains his M1 Garand. In the photograph, the weapon forms a long vertical line beside the patient, contrasting with the medic’s hands reaching across the gap.
The casualty’s uncovered head and distinctive haircut differ from the medic’s camouflaged helmet. The red-cross markings and medical bags make the caregiver’s role immediately readable.
An airborne medic’s account broadens the scene
In a U.S. Army interview about D-Day, veteran Edwin Pepping recalls losing supplies during his jump and helping move wounded men to a makeshift church aid station near Angoville-au-Plain.
His recollection concerns an actual individual and location. DD247 is an anonymous vignette, but the account provides context for the difficult conditions in which airborne medical personnel worked after landing.
The hands are the centre of the composition
Both figures turn inward. Their knees establish a low, stable arrangement while the raised forearm connects the bodies above it.
Leave that central space open when placing the set. A crate or another figure between them can hide the action and reduce the pair to two unrelated kneeling men.
A pause with its own tension
The treatment scene differs from both a firing pose and a casualty being carried away. The patient remains close to his equipment while the medic concentrates on a specific injury.
DD247 adds a human relationship to the airborne collection and a clear medical subject for the catalog. Its appeal lies in the interaction between the figures, the contrast in headgear and the rifle still held at the wounded man’s side.
Release record and collecting notes
Sager’s archived DD247 product record lists a release date of March 2015 and a retirement date of December 2020. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
