King & Country · Battle of the Bulge · BBG009
The BBG009 Raupen Schlepper is a tracked supply vehicle with a small ammunition trailer behind it. King & Country included a driver, a pointing NCO and a removable canvas cover. Its tall cab and load bed give it a workmanlike outline, quite different from the armored vehicles usually associated with a winter German collection.

In the set: A tracked truck with driver, pointing NCO, ammunition trailer and removable canvas cover.
The subject belongs to the supply side of an army: ammunition and equipment had to reach units over roads and ground made difficult by winter. The US Army’s wartime handbook describes German supply and movement as an organized chain with transport operating behind the fighting troops. This model gives that less visible work a place in the display.
The pointing man provides a direction for the vehicle and trailer. Placed beside a junction or unloading area, he can appear to be guiding the driver without adding any other figures. The removable cover also offers two ways to present the load bed, although the original contents should not be confused with separately purchased cargo.
Review
The small trailer is what makes this release stand out in the reference photographs. It extends the scene and emphasizes the vehicle’s transport role. The tall cab, low tracks and open space around the pointing figure produce a more varied outline than a tank alone. It is a strong choice for a collector interested in vehicles that supplied the fighting, with enough included figures to make a coherent scene.
