King & Country AL073 Kiwi Flagbearer: Giving New Zealand Its Own Place

A flag changes the balance of a display

The product description identifies a mounted rifleman carrying the national flag. That broad shape above the rider is the key visual feature. It can organize a small group even when the surrounding figures have similar uniforms and mounts.

I would keep the flag clear against the backdrop and give nearby rifle barrels a different angle. When several projecting objects overlap, both the flag and the figures become harder to read. A little space makes the national identity visible at a glance.

Collecting an allied group within a larger series

A flagbearer, an officer and a few riflemen can form a coherent small collection within the AL range. AL073 helps make that group feel intentional. Alongside AL072, it also opens a conversation about the differences that remain beneath a shared Anzac label. The series becomes more informative when those differences are recorded, rather than treating every slouch hat as the same identity.

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived AL073 product record lists March 2017 as the release date. Those are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
