VN001 is busy without firing a shot. The Marine kneels with a radio handset at his face, an M16 in his other hand and an antenna rising above his helmet. The equipment on his back and the divided attention of his hands explain his job more clearly than a label could. In a shelf of riflemen aiming in the same direction, he introduces a different kind of activity.
NA075 crouches forward with the weapon close to the body. The compact, alert posture gives the Legion group a searching figure that can lead the eye toward cover, a gap in a wall or the edge of a field.
NA074 steps ahead with his body slightly inclined and the weapon carried low across the front. The figure adds movement to the Legion’s green-coated infantry without committing him to an obvious close-combat lunge.
NA073 lowers the body while the hands work around the firearm. The loading action gives the King’s German Legion group an interval between movement and firing, rather than another copy of the same aiming stance.
