King & Country AK060 Water Supplies Set depicts two Afrika Korps soldiers sharing a drink. One supports a jerrycan while the other bends forward with a cup. Both wear shorts and retain their field equipment; the green tunic of one soldier contrasts with his companion’s pale tropical clothing. Released in September 2010 and retired in December 2012, it is a two-figure set built around a single shared action.
The frame antenna is the first thing to notice on AK029. It rises above the open halftrack and makes this command vehicle recognizable even before the “Greif” lettering is read. The standing Rommel figure provides the familiar personal association, but the vehicle’s communications equipment is what gives the set its distinctive outline.
AK027 is a complete activity rather than a gun with a token attendant. Five crew figures surround the 10.5cm artillery piece, with different gestures and positions turning the space around the weapon into part of the model. The release also offers two useful configurations: traveling behind a tractor or opened out for firing.
AK026 makes the connection between a gun position and the journey that brought it there. K&C’s Desert Transport is an Sd.Kfz. 11 halftrack, supplied with a driver and vehicle commander. Its open body, tracked rear section and light desert finish give an artillery collection a practical counterpart to the gun and crew.
AK022 works as a small sequence of connected tasks. One soldier handles a round, another crouches beside the mortar, and the third watches through binoculars. The figures direct attention from ammunition to weapon to observation, giving the set a clear internal story before any scenery is added.
The open passenger compartment is the center of AK020. The Demag halftrack has an immediately recognizable wheel-and-track profile, but the men riding inside give the model its scale and character. It is a transport subject that can hold a display together without needing a firing pose or a large gun to command attention.
AK019 puts the Panzer III at the center of an early K&C desert collection. The pale tank, exposed crew and equipment across the hull create several points of interest beyond the gun barrel. It rewards a three-quarter view, where the running gear, turret and rear stowage can all be read together.
The Afrika Korps name can make a shelf look like an entirely German story. AK018 interrupts that impression with four Italian soldiers. Their tropical helmets, carried weapons and varied walking or standing poses give the group a distinct identity within the AK range, and make it a useful starting point for looking beyond tanks and famous commanders.
AK006 is a useful reminder that an infantry collection needs more than standing silhouettes. Its four sitting and crouching grenadiers bring the eye down toward the ground. One figure aims a weapon while the others have different low postures, creating a group that can be read as several individual moments rather than one repeated pose.
The rider has stopped, but the motorcycle still gives this little group a sense of movement. AK004 captures the moment between journeys: a standing soldier beside a loaded machine, ready to become part of a headquarters, roadside halt or vehicle column. It is a useful early Afrika Korps subject because its story is communication rather than another weapon being fired.
