Overview
King & Country AK060 Water Supplies Set depicts two Afrika Korps soldiers sharing a drink. One supports a jerrycan while the other bends forward with a cup. Both wear shorts and retain their field equipment; the green tunic of one soldier contrasts with his companion’s pale tropical clothing. Released in September 2010 and retired in December 2012, it is a two-figure set built around a single shared action.

Water for the men—and the engines
A U.S. intelligence report published in January 1943 records the water carried by one German tank battalion on a three-day march from Tripoli to El Agheila in 1941. It lists 11,815 gallons in total, including 5,100 for engine cooling and 4,465 for cooking and drinking. In that example, the machinery required more water than the men’s meals and drinks. Supplies travelled both on individual vehicles and in a dedicated water column; cooking water accompanied the field kitchens. These figures describe one reported march, rather than a fixed allowance throughout the campaign. Read the wartime report.
Review
I prefer AK060 to a pair of generic standing troopers because the figures are actually doing something together. The container, cup and bent posture explain the action without a separate accessory set. The pale and green uniforms also give the pair some visual variety. The trade-off is flexibility: the pouring soldier has little purpose without his companion. This is a complete little vignette, rather than two interchangeable additions to a larger group.
