King & Country · North Africa · AK029
The frame antenna is the first thing to notice on AK029. It rises above the open halftrack and makes this command vehicle recognizable even before the “Greif” lettering is read. The standing Rommel figure provides the familiar personal association, but the vehicle’s communications equipment is what gives the set its distinctive outline.

There is a historical vehicle to compare
A 1942 Bundesarchiv photograph of Rommel in Greif identifies the vehicle as an Sd.Kfz. 250/3. It provides a primary visual reference for the named command halftrack. Use it to compare broad features and the relationship between crew, body and antenna; a historical photograph is not a component list for the K&C miniature or proof that every painted detail reproduces that exact instant.
What “Strictly Limited” tells the buyer
Sagers identifies AK029 as a Strictly Limited release and dates it to March 2006. Listings may include an SL suffix, so search both the basic code and the full Greif name. The archive entry used here does not establish an edition quantity or a detailed packaging checklist. Ask the seller to show any numbered documentation that accompanies an example rather than treating a claimed production number as verified. Limited-edition labeling alone does not determine a fair price.
Handle the antenna as a fragile feature
The frame’s joints, supports and corners deserve close photographs from more than one angle. A repair can look straight from the side and misaligned from above. Check the vehicle’s front fittings and the supplied figures as well, and ask how the antenna will be protected in transit. Lift the model by a supported body area rather than using the most visually prominent structure as a handle.
Keep the vehicle’s role in view
A dispatch rider nearby can make the command function easier to read, provided the scene is presented as a collecting arrangement rather than a documented meeting. Rommel’s identity should not overwhelm the machine itself. The combination of radio vehicle, crew and messenger offers more to examine than a display built only around a famous name.
