King & Country · Napoleonic · NA014
NA014 is a French grenadier on the move, carrying his long weapon upright against the shoulder. The red plume, dark coat and white equipment create a strong vertical shape that suits a marching column.

The ordinary work of an elite company
Grenadiers were distinguished infantry within the French army, but their duties still included the long marches, waiting and routine movements of a campaign. This is where NA014 earns a place beside the firing poses. He lets a display move away from the instant of combat and show a unit arriving, passing through a town or forming up.
Make the equipment visible
The shouldered weapon leaves the front relatively open. White straps cut across the coat while the pack provides depth behind the shoulders. A three-quarter placement shows the moving leg and the load at the same time. A completely frontal row hides much of what distinguishes a marching figure from an inspection pose.
A useful pairing and an inspection point
NA015 presents the weapon forward instead of carrying it on the shoulder. Displaying the two together explains the difference between movement and advancing into action. Before buying NA014, compare the tall plume, bayonet and contact between hand and stock. Those thin projections need clearer photographs than the broad areas of the coat.
