The Operation ToyBox catalog · DD263-1
The paratrooper is standing still, but almost every part of his silhouette is occupied by equipment. DD263-1 represents an 82nd Airborne trooper carrying a Thompson, ready to board for the invasion.

Preparation is the action
The front pack, harness, pouches and lower-leg equipment make the figure feel burdened before he takes a step. The weapon is part of that load rather than the focal point of a firing pose.
This gives the miniature a different mood from the airborne figures fighting through villages. The story is still ahead of him, and that pause can be effective at the edge of a larger display.
An airborne scene starts on the ground
The U.S. Army’s NCO Journal retrospective places both the 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions in the airborne assault. This figure concentrates on the preparations that preceded it.
A row of waiting figures can suggest an airfield assembly without requiring an aircraft model. Leave a little uneven spacing between them so the group feels like men awaiting movement rather than troops on parade.
The division is in the suffix
DD263-1 is the 82nd version; DD263-2 presents the corresponding 101st subject. The shoulder insignia is therefore an important part of a useful seller photograph.
The July 2015 release adds an equipment-heavy standing pose to the collection. Its value as a scene-building figure comes from restraint: the upright stance leaves the packed clothing and the anticipation of departure to carry the story.
Release record and collecting notes
Sager’s archived DD263-1 product record lists a release date of July 2015 and a retirement date of August 2018. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
