The Operation ToyBox catalog · WS334

WS334 has the unmistakable proportions of a small tracked chassis carrying a large open gun position. The side number 102 and mottled camouflage add another identity: King & Country connects this release with Saving Private Ryan.

The manufacturer’s movie reference

The product description says the model follows the camouflage style and markings of the Marder seen in the film. That is the intended visual connection, rather than a claim that this miniature documents an actual Normandy vehicle numbered 102.

For a film-oriented collection, the number and finish can be as meaningful as the mechanical subject. They explain why this particular version was chosen.

The running gear points to the chassis family

The manufacturer identifies the basis as the Czech Panzer 38(t) chassis. The large road wheels beneath the compact hull are easy to see, while the higher fighting compartment changes the outline above them.

The open top makes a slightly elevated viewpoint especially useful. It reveals the gun area rather than reducing the model to a camouflaged side plate and projecting barrel.

One crewman, two presentation choices

The included crew figure can stand inside or outside the vehicle according to the release description. Those are alternative arrangements of the same supplied man, not two separate crew figures.

Outside, he gives the vehicle a clear human scale. Inside, he brings attention back toward the working compartment and gun.

WS334 belongs in the catalog as the Marder III with this movie-associated finish and movable crew presentation. Keep the crewman and number visible in a collecting photograph, and distinguish it from WS317’s different Lorraine-based Marder I.

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived WS334 product record lists a release date of August 2017 and a retirement date of July 2019. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
