The Operation ToyBox catalog · DD214

The carbine sits close to DD214’s shoulder as the kneeling paratrooper looks along it. Compared with the longer Garands nearby, the shorter weapon keeps the action concentrated around the upper body.

A carbine associated with airborne equipment

The Airborne Museum’s M1A1 carbine and carrying-cover entry explains the folding metal stock developed for paratroopers. The museum artifact makes a useful comparison when studying the compact weapons in an airborne collection.

King & Country’s DD214 description uses the broader M1 Carbine name and identifies the trooper with the 82nd Airborne. The catalog retains that documented identification rather than inferring a more exact model from a small photograph.

The low pose keeps the face involved

The helmet is lowered toward the sights, but a slight front-quarter view still shows the face beneath the netting. The arm position forms a tight frame around the weapon.

The forward knee supplies a broad dark patch below the lighter jacket. Brown boots and pouches interrupt the greens, keeping the figure readable against a plain background.

A clear comparison with the Garand figures

DD213 and DD214 are both kneeling, yet their weapon positions and represented divisions differ. The former holds a Garand lower; this man brings a carbine to his shoulder.

That distinction is useful when identifying loose figures or choosing a varied group. Similar height alone does not make two paratroopers interchangeable.

DD214 belongs in the collection as a compact aiming figure with a specific airborne attribution. Place him where the carbine and face remain visible, and the smaller weapon becomes a point of interest rather than disappearing among the straps and equipment.

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived DD214 product record lists a release date of August 2013 and a retirement date of October 2016. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
