The Operation ToyBox catalog · DD213
DD213 settles onto one knee with his Garand angled across the front of his body. The 101st Airborne rifleman is ready and attentive, but the pose leaves room for something other than a firing scene.

The M1 in the title needs its full name
The product description identifies an M1 Garand. Springfield Armory National Historic Site’s wartime small-arms collection displays the M1 rifle separately from the M1 carbine and the Browning Automatic Rifle.
Those are distinct weapons, despite the repeated M1 designation. In a miniature collection, naming them clearly helps separate figures whose clothing may otherwise look very similar.
A useful view of the uniform
The bent leg brings the darker knee area forward, while the pouches and straps around the torso sit above the rifle. The netted helmet and brown jump boots complete a recognizably airborne silhouette.
The figure’s face remains visible because the weapon is held below the shoulder. That small choice gives the head more room to contribute to the pose than on a tightly aimed rifleman.
The quiet member of a busy group
Placed near DD211’s map-reading officer, DD213 can appear to wait while directions are checked. Near a moving rifleman, he can instead suggest a brief halt.
The 101st attribution is part of the release record, so it stays with the code even when the figure joins a mixed display. The catalog does not assign him a regiment or a named soldier’s identity.
DD213 adds a flexible intermediate posture to the D-Day collection. He occupies the space between walking and firing, allowing the collector to vary the rhythm of an airborne group without losing its shared clothing and equipment language.
Release record and collecting notes
Sager’s archived DD213 product record lists a release date of August 2013 and a retirement date of October 2016. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
