The Operation ToyBox catalog · WS113

WS113 raises its MG34 above the low positions familiar from many machine-gun teams. Two standing figures form a closely linked composition, with the weapon creating a long horizontal line between them.

The model’s defining arrangement

The gunner stands behind the weapon while his companion supports the forward portion in the sculpted pose. Their bodies sit at slightly different angles, helping the viewer distinguish the two men despite the shared camouflage clothing.

This is a description of the miniature’s arrangement, rather than an instruction for using a real weapon. The saved reference shows the two figures as a connected team.

An MG34 has its own identity

The U.S. Naval History and Heritage Command’s MG34 collection record identifies it as a German general-purpose machine gun. That exact name is more useful than treating every German machine gun as an MG42 or using the broad wartime nickname Spandau.

King & Country’s archived title explicitly identifies the weapon as MG34, which is retained here.

The space between the men matters

The weapon visually joins the pair. Separating them too widely in a display can break that relationship, while placing one directly behind the other can hide the supporting figure.

A side-quarter angle makes the long gun profile and both bodies visible. The projecting weapon is also a detail to inspect carefully when assessing a secondhand example.

Why this team stands out

WS112 includes a low gunner, while WS120 later presents a team travelling with its equipment. WS113 gives the same broad collecting theme a different height and shape.

The WS retrospective provides the historical framework. The release itself earns a separate place through its two-man interaction and the distinctive elevated line of the gun, rather than an invented account of a named action.

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived WS113 product record lists a release date of April 2008 and a retirement date of October 2011. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
