The Operation ToyBox catalog · WS094
The long greatcoat is the defining feature of WS094. It creates a nearly uninterrupted vertical shape beneath the helmet, with the shouldered rifle rising beside the figure’s head.

Stillness is the subject
The guard stands with his feet planted and a hand securing the rifle strap. Unlike a firing figure, he does not need a visible opponent to explain his posture. An entrance, vehicle or stretch of road can supply the reason he is there.
The archived release calls him a standing guard but does not assign a named unit or post. That leaves the figure useful for several settings without making any one of them his documented historical location.
What the coat hides and reveals
The lower body is largely covered, so the sculpt’s interest gathers around the head, belt and weapon. The shoulder strap adds a long diagonal across the otherwise upright composition.
A slight side view makes the rifle and coat hem stand apart. Directly from the front, the weapon can merge into the figure’s outline and become harder to appreciate.
Three simple settings
- A doorway emphasizes the guard’s fixed position and gives his height an architectural reference.
- A parked truck connects the figure with transport and security, leaving the vehicle’s side visible.
- A roadside sign suggests a controlled route without requiring a large bunker or gun emplacement.
These are display possibilities, not additional pieces included with WS094. The release is the individual figure.
Why a quiet sentry helps the collection
A shelf of running and firing poses can become visually crowded. This guard supplies a pause and a strong vertical line, especially beside lower kneeling figures or a motorcycle.
Within the WS catalog’s broader wartime setting, the greatcoat also introduces another uniform silhouette. His value as a miniature lies in that restrained pose and clear outline, rather than an elaborate invented biography.
Release record and collecting notes
Sager’s archived WS094 product record lists a release date of March 2007 and a retirement date of March 2012. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
