The Operation ToyBox catalog · WS093
WS093 brings the action up to the helmet rim. The officer’s raised hand creates a crisp salute while the rest of his body remains upright, with equipment hanging in compact shapes across his chest and waist.

The gesture is part of the identification
The archived announcement explicitly describes a Wehrmacht figure giving a conventional military salute. In the photograph, the hand is brought to the head; this is visually distinct from the extended-arm Nazi salute used on some other personality and ceremonial releases.
That distinction identifies the pose. It does not establish the beliefs of an unnamed figure or remove the Wehrmacht from the history of Nazi Germany’s war.
Field equipment changes the mood
The helmet, binoculars and carried equipment give the man a field appearance rather than the stripped-down outline of a parade uniform. His stance is formal, but his clothing keeps the scene connected to military activity outdoors.
The small areas of brown equipment also keep the grey-green uniform from becoming one unbroken block. A photograph taken slightly from the front side makes the bent arm and chest details easier to read.
Who receives the salute?
The release leaves that question open. An approaching staff car, another officer or a road entrance can each give the gesture a destination. The subject works best when there is a little clear space in the direction he faces.
There is no named recipient in the short product record. Adding one in a display is an interpretation, rather than an event documented by the set itself.
A pause between moving figures
Beside WS095’s marching officer and WS096’s rifleman, this stationary figure interrupts the rhythm of movement. That is useful in a larger group: every man does not need to be doing the same thing.
The WS retrospective provides the broader context for these German subjects. WS093’s particular contribution is a clear gesture in field dress, with enough detail to sustain a small vignette of its own.
Release record and collecting notes
Sager’s archived WS093 product record lists a release date of March 2007 and a retirement date of March 2012. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
