The Operation ToyBox catalog · WS046
WS046 brings a motorcycle rider to a direction sign while an NCO controls the traffic. The signpost gives the two figures a specific object to interact with, turning the set into a small roadside scene.
Three connected elements
The archived release identifies the dispatch rider, an assault-engineer NCO on traffic duty and the directional signpost. The photograph shows the rider seated on the motorcycle and the standing man displaying his traffic paddle.
All three elements help explain the arrangement. Without the sign, the exchange becomes less geographically suggestive; without the NCO, the rider loses the human interaction.
Roads carried information as well as vehicles
The WS series history places movement and support alongside combat subjects. A dispatch rider introduces communication by motorcycle, while the traffic figure points toward the problem of keeping routes usable.
The set does not identify a particular messenger or verified encounter.
The sign gives the scene a place
Read the destinations in the reference photograph rather than assuming every German direction sign belongs to the same campaign. The visible French place names help shape a display’s surroundings.
They still do not establish a precise date or a documented historical photograph behind the sculpt.
Why this compact release is worth recording
WS046 offers a vehicle, two different roles and a scenic object within one small composition. It can connect a road display without requiring another tank.
Keep the NCO, motorcycle rider and signpost together in the contents record, even if they are eventually positioned farther apart in a larger diorama.
Release record and collecting notes
Sager’s archived WS046 product record lists a release date of September 2003 and a retirement date of October 2007. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
