The Operation ToyBox catalog · WS047

WS047 carries its long 7.5cm gun in a low fixed superstructure, with camouflage and foliage breaking up the vehicle’s outline. Three figures add activity around the assault gun.

A Panzer IV family resemblance

The archived release identifies the StuG IV as an assault gun based on the Panzer IV chassis. Its fixed fighting compartment gives it a different appearance from a turreted Panzer IV.

The WS historical overview provides the broader wartime setting. The catalog keeps the vehicle designation precise instead of treating every low German tracked gun as the same type.

Some missing skirts are intentional

The product description explicitly presents the model with gaps in its side skirts as part of the worn battlefield appearance. Those gaps should therefore be compared with the original photograph before being labelled damage.

That does not make every absent piece acceptable. The point is to distinguish a feature of the original model from a change to a particular example.

The figures are not all doing the same job

The release specifies a commander, an MG42 gunner and a kneeling Panzergrenadier. The title’s shorthand of three crew can conceal that variety.

The infantry figure connects the assault gun with the surrounding ground, while the two men on the vehicle keep attention on its upper surfaces.

Why this release belongs separately

WS047 records a specific StuG IV interpretation with its own camouflage, figure combination and deliberate weathered details. A careful reference lets collectors compare it with later assault-gun models without confusing different chassis or assuming the original side-skirt arrangement is incomplete.

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived WS047 product record lists a release date of November 2003 and a retirement date of February 2005. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
