The Operation ToyBox catalog · WS045

WS045 shows an officer directing three men with tools. The short title foregrounds the officer, but the original description and saved photograph make clear that the work party is central to the release.

Read past the abbreviated name

The archived description places the officer with three men constructing a bridge. In the image, the different tool poses turn the four figures into a working group.

This is not simply a lone officer whose helpers are irrelevant background. At the same time, a completed bridge should not be inferred as included: the reference here records the figures and their equipment.

Military movement depended on work

The WS historical overview connects the range’s vehicles and infantry with the broader campaign setting. Engineers introduce the labour behind movement across damaged or obstructed ground.

The release does not establish a named river, bridge or actual construction party.

The tools create the variation

One man works low, while others hold their equipment higher across the body. The directing officer provides a different gesture within that pattern.

Those shapes make the group more interesting than four men simply standing beside a finished piece of scenery. Their activity is visible in the sculpts themselves.

Why keep the full group in the catalog?

A short seller title could easily reduce WS045 to the officer alone. Recording the four-man image prevents that loss of identity.

The set belongs beside WS044’s boat crew as another treatment of the engineer subject, while its tools and work poses distinguish it from the other infantry groups.

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived WS045 product record lists a release date of September 2003 and a retirement date of July 2005. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
