The Operation ToyBox catalog · WS040

WS040 shows four infantrymen walking with their equipment carried in different ways. Helmets, weapons and containers break up the line of bodies, making the group feel less formal than a marching parade.

The pause between action poses

The archived title identifies four walking Wehrmacht infantry figures. The saved image shows a mixture of weapons held across the body and carried over a shoulder, with the men’s faces more visible than in many helmeted firing groups.

Those choices give the release a different mood from WS039’s attacking soldiers.

Movement is part of military history

The WS historical overview covers the wider wartime setting. A walking group draws attention to the people carrying the equipment between the more dramatic events represented elsewhere in the range.

The surviving short record names no route, unit or specific day. That leaves the scene representative rather than attaching an invented destination.

Four individual outlines

The carried machine gun creates a high horizontal line over one man’s shoulders. Other equipment hangs lower around the bodies, and the different head positions keep the figures from looking like repeated copies.

A side view emphasizes those loads. A front view instead brings out the faces and the differences in how each man holds his arms.

Why the quiet group belongs

WS040 records an early infantry release whose interest comes from ordinary movement. It gives a collection room to breathe between the more active gun teams and assault figures.

Preserve the four-man combination in the record, including the equipment carried by each figure, so that loose examples can be matched back to the correct set.

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived WS040 product record lists a retirement date of September 2007. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
