The rifle creates the upper outline

The weapon rests diagonally along the figure’s shoulder and rises well above his head. The stride and swinging hand keep the lower body from becoming a rigid vertical column.

The plain rectangular base gives the feet room for that movement. It also makes the figure easy to distinguish from a combat rifleman on a rough scenic base.

Marching and stationary are separate choices

WS337 stands at attention with the rifle beside him; WS340 holds the rifle in front in a present-arms pose. WS336 supplies the moving alternative.

A comparison of these three figures shows how much a weapon position can alter a miniature’s character even when the broad uniform subject remains similar.

The release contains one marching rifleman. A full rank would require additional figures, and no parade ground or reviewing party is included by the set code.

WS336 belongs in the catalog as this specific drill pose. Keep the bayonet tip, rifle angle and advancing legs visible when checking an example; they are also the details most easily obscured in a crowded group photograph.
