The Operation ToyBox catalog · WS288
WS288 kneels while handling a stick grenade low in front of his body. The rifle is slung behind him, leaving the hands free for the action that defines this release.

The main weapon is no longer in the hands
The rifle behind the shoulder establishes his infantry equipment, but the grenade shifts the immediate attention to a different task. The small object and close hands distinguish him from the nearby kneeling riflemen.
The catalog names him a grenadier without identifying a particular soldier or engagement. The pose should not be turned into a named historical attack.
The low stance keeps the action compact
The raised knee and grounded leg bring the hands close to the body. The covered helmet sits above the turned face, while the slung rifle creates a diagonal behind the torso.
That rear weapon is worth keeping in a reference photograph. A tightly cropped front view can miss one of the figure’s clearest distinguishing details.
Compare three kinds of readiness
WS287 works at his rifle, WS288 handles a grenade and WS289 holds a rifle upright. Their similar kneeling heights connect the group, while the different tasks keep the figures separate.
No additional infantry or scenery is included with WS288. The release is the single kneeling grenadier shown in the saved image.
Its place in the collection comes from the equipment change and compact gesture. Keep the grenade, hands and slung rifle visible together so the figure is identified by its actual pose rather than a generic kneeling-soldier label.
Release record and collecting notes
Sager’s archived WS288 product record lists a release date of May 2014 and a retirement date of May 2019. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
